Coming Up in Entertainment!

Hot talent in our little big town of Milton

An Orchestra, a TIFF-inspired film festival, theatre groups, and a long list of other crazy-talented groups and artists make up a fraction of the Milton entertainment scene. We’re going to bet you didn’t know about all the hot talent we have here in our cozy-but-growing, little-big town of Milton.

A selection of what is coming in the Milton entertainment scene over the next three months:

March:

The Milton Centre for the Arts presents ‘Outerbridge: Clockwork Mysteries‘ on March 17, 2017. The only real alternative to a loud party and green beer is getting comfortable in the gorgeous Mattamy Theatre and taking in the incredible magic of Clockwork Mysteries. Back by popular demand,  Clockwork Mysteries will take audiences on a fascinating journey through time, capturing curiosity and imagination from the first breathtaking illusion to the spectacular finale. Tickets at the Mattamy box office.

April:

What kind of music season would it be if there weren’t a concert devoted entirely to the masters of Classical music? Join the MPO for Classical Gold on April 8, 2017 as they present the works of the greats, including Elgar’s Nimrod, Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, and more. This concert is dedicated to and in celebration of the late MPO violinist Suzanne Hnatiw, and will also feature music from two fiddle groups performing in her honour. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. For more information, visit the MPO website here.

May:

What do Lesley Andrew, Cassandra Warner, and Michelle Truman all have in common? Besides the fact that they are world-renowned songstresses, each with their own unique style and sound–all three brilliantly talented performers hail from Milton! They will be together on stage for the first time as the MPO presents ‘Voices of Milton’ on May 6, 2017 in the Mattamy Theatre. This is going to be an energizing show, and one you don’t want to miss. Tickets available from the box office here.

Also in May, the Milton Players delve into the world of family, Russian Brides ordered online, and Funeral Homes. Gibson & Sons is a hilarious, touching comedy about family, love and making all kinds of relationships work… even the unexpected kind. The show runs at select times from May 5-7 and 11-13, 2017 in the Minmaxx theatre. Get your tickets here.

A group that has been around for close to 50 years, the Milton Choristers has some of the finest voices in the area. They sing, they laugh, and they bring joy to everyone who comes to listen. Check out the Choristers’ next concert on May 27, 2017, entitled Canada Sings, Eh! Part Deux in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. Visit the website for more details.
