This year’s Police Day will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 (rain or shine) from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This free day-long celebration of policing in Halton Region offers visitors an opportunity to learn first-hand about law enforcement through a series of interactive displays and presentations.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:00 a.m. sharp. The theme of this year’s event is Working Together for Safer Communities.
Highlights and activities of the day will include:
– Tactical Rescue Unit and K-9 demonstrations
– Opportunity to see the new Mobile Command Unit (MCU) and Armoured Rescue Vehicle (ARV)
– 30th anniversary celebration of the Children’s Safety Village and tours
– HRPS Pipes & Drums
– HRPS Chorus
– Music and entertainment
– Children’s rides
– Snow cones/popcorn
– BBQ provided by Troy’s Diner (set menu and prices)
Indoors, guests will be treated to numerous booths with information about emergency services, crime prevention, community safety and well-being and volunteering and recruiting opportunities.
HMC Connections volunteer interpreters (Arabic, Urdu, Chinese, Spanish, Polish, Punjabi, Russian, Korean, Portuguese and French) available through the Information booth.
ASL interpreter services available through the Information booth and ASL interpretation provided for all stage presentations.
Free parking is available at the north side of Headquarters and the south side of Headquarters, off North Service Road.
