MiltonTalk.ca: Short Story Contest

We want to read your short stories Milton!

We know how many stories and storytellers there are in our beautiful little big town of Milton, Ontario, Canada. We want to read your short stories. We’ll be judging your submissions and announcing the winners in July when we will be officially launching MiltonTalk.ca.

There are THREE CATEGORIES:  Teachers please feel free to have your classes participate in the contest! Children’s entries should be accompanied with parental permission please.

CHILDREN AGES 5 to 14: stories should be no longer than 300 words and may be scans or images of handwritten texts.

TEENS 15 TO 18: stories should be no longer than 1,500 words and should be submitted in text, document or PDF format.

ADULTS: stories should be no longer than 3,000 words and should be submitted in text, document or PDF format.

Stories may be fiction or non-fiction. 

ENTRY & PRIZES:

There is no entry fee, this contest is free to participate in and open to all Milton residents. Email your short story as a text, document, PDF, or image file (children’s entries) to EDITOR@MILTONTALK.CA and please include your name, email address and which category you are submitting to. Please note that you retain copyright for your work, Milton Talk simply reserves the right to publish entries of winners and runners up of the contest.

DEADLINE for submissions: June 20, 2017

1st Prize for each category will receive a gift from MiltonTalk as well as publication on the site and in our print anthology. 

The top 5 runners up in each category will also be announced and published in our print anthology, to be available in late summer.
